Biological Control of Chestnut Blight with Hypovirulence: A Critical Analysis

Michael G. Milgroom, Paolo Cortesi · 2004

Annual Review of Phytopathology

A critical analysis of the biological control of chestnut blight with hypovirulence. The companion cites it for a hyperparasitic virus that controlled chestnut blight only where it spread itself. The lesson cuts both ways for defenders in the datasphere: a defense that spreads itself is an epidemic.
