Kleptoparasitism in birds

H. Jane Brockmann, Christopher J. Barnard · 1979

Animal Behaviour

A review of kleptoparasitism in birds. The companion cites it for kleptoparasites that take what another has procured, as frigatebirds and skuas rob seabirds. This is the biological form of one kind of stealing (kleptotrophy), and the skua's way of life marks the case not yet documented in the datasphere: agents robbing other agents of what they earned.
