A paper on co-evolutionary lag and equilibrium between cuckoos and cowbirds and their hosts. The companion cites it, with Davies et al. 1996, for reed warblers that reject mimetic eggs only where parasitism is common. It shows how observers cope when attribution fails, falling back on priors and costs, which bears on teleological saturation (C2).
