Remote Labor Index: Measuring AI Automation of Remote Work

A preprint introducing the Remote Labor Index, which measures AI automation of remote work on 240 paid freelance projects set by clients and graded by experts. Both papers cite it, with its leaderboard, for the best agent's share done to a professional standard, which rose from 2.5% in October 2025 to 20.8% in September 2026. It tracks the capacity to earn in Fig. 3b.
