A synthesis of the global methane budget for 2000 to 2017. The companion cites it, with Lovelock, for the constant resupply of methane that lets methane and oxygen coexist far from equilibrium in Earth's atmosphere. It illustrates that holding matter away from equilibrium costs free energy, which keeps steering visible in aggregate under teleological saturation (C2).
