Ecological and Evolutionary Implications of Food Subsidies from Humans

Daniel Oro, Meritxell Genovart, Giacomo Tavecchia, Mike S. Fowler, Alejandro Mart\'nez-Abra\'n · 2013

Ecology Letters

A review of the ecological and evolutionary implications of food subsidies from humans. The companion cites it, with Richardson et al., for ecologists counting refuse-fed rats as naturalized. This motivates a commensal variant of the trophic-independence test that would leave free goods out, beside the strict test that counts them at what they would cost.
