Remarks on the disproof of the unit distance conjecture

Remarks by outside mathematicians on the May 2026 AI disproof of Erdős's unit distance conjecture. Both papers cite it, with OpenAI's announcement, as the independent check on a proof that an AI model produced working on its own. It is the main evidence for premise 1 of the long arc (C3), that lineages can do research that compounds.
